Falling Golden Leaves and Cooler Temps - Autumn is here! Yippee!! I can't wait to dig out my sweaters from the chest. I gathered the last of my Salsa Chilies, Cucumbers and tomatoes from the garden as we are going to have our first freeze this week. What have you been doing to prepare for Jack Frost?
I've been spending more time in the studio these days (after working very long days at my day job) preparing for the Carbon Valley Craft Fair on 11/13. When am I going to learn - it's almost a monthly task of making and setting aside products to sale. In order to get there, I needed to clean up my workspace. I need a lot of space and I need it uncluttered in order to create. So - I've been cleaning up and finishing some UFO's. One of the UFO's I finished was alternatives for my August Paper Pumpkin kit - Hope Box. It's such a beautiful kit - the colors are so cheerful. I had a great time taking the last one of my large butterflies and floral overlay and turned it over to use it as a stencil! I used Highland Heather, Melon Mambo and Mango Melody Classic Stampin' Pads and my blending brushes to create this thank you card for my customers who purchased products in September. I was thrilled in how it turned out! What do you think?
I started out with a more pale option first and placed it on one of the provided card fronts from the kit. I used the small butterfly and floral stamp from the kit with Bermuda Bay Classic Stampin' Pad and created a background on the card front. I then cut the stenciled card down to allow more of the background to show. I embellished with the little yellow butterfly cut out and the gorgeous pink sequins from the kit.
After making my thank you cards, I then used the colored stencil for a card! I placed it on a white card front embossed with the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder. I was grinning from ear to ear as I had no idea how even more beautiful this would be! So simple - so pretty!
I still had supplies left so I cut of the Bermuda Bay card fronts and trimmed it down to 3 3/4" x 5" and then placed on the of the pretty "watercolor" pieces at an angle. I attached this to a Pool Party Cardfront. I took the Yellow tag that was to be used on the box front and attached with dimensionals. I embellished the tag with twine. I then took one of the flagged print pieces and placed it on top of a piece of the ribbon that came in the kit. I frayed the ends of the ribbon just little to give it some interest!
