Stippled Roses Birthday Cards

by Bonnie Hershfeldt, February 09, 2024

Happy Friday!  It's Friday already?  Wow!!!  How is your week going?  I looked at my planner on Monday and I think I maybe got 1/2 of what I needed to accomplish this week.  Although, I was able to create some lovely samples this week.  I'm so excited about the Perennial Lavender class this weekend.  The Perennial Lavender Suite Collection is hands down my all time favorite suite from the 2024 January - April Catalog.  I love the purples, pinks and teal greens.  If you haven't yet seen this gorgeous suite - check it out today!

I saw the orthopedic specialist yesterday - she was wonderful.  She took additional x-rays and reviewed my MRI.  Basically, I'm getting old and my parts are wearing down like an the tread on our vehicles - heavy sigh!  I turn 65 next month.  There is no way I am 65 and my parts are wearing down yet - lol!  I have osteoarthritis darn it!  Good news - no surgery yet - but eventually I will need a knee replacement.  For now though, it's PT, Tylenol/Advil, water exercising, collapsible walking sticks in my backpack and a steroid shot in my knee before our next cruise the end of March.  I'm glad we have a plan and I can't do anymore damage with simple living - lol!  I might be a bit more slower on the dance floor on the cruise lol but I'm going to make the best of the situation!

This week's Facebook Live showcased two sweet, soft, pastel cards created with the Stippled Roses Bundle and the Softly Stippled 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper.

Where did I get my card ideas this week?  I was looking at all the wonderful projects from this month's Crafty Collaborations team February Monthly Tutorial Bundle and found the lovely Softly Sophisticated Shaker Card created by Rachel Aziamadi of Scrapinium by Rachel.  She is from Belgium - no wonder I loved the card, as I love everything French!  I wanted to case the entire card and I may set down sometime very soon to make a card similar to hers.  However for today, I used her design for the background only for my card below.  I used Small Blending Brushes,  Petal Pink and Pool Party ink applied to a piece of gray/white rose print from the Softly Stippled 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper to create my version of the background!  This paper is free with a $50 purchase from 2024  Sale-A-Bration while supplies last!

How can you get a copy of this fabulous monthly tutorial bundle?  It's yours free with a $50 Stampin' Up! order from my online store during the month of February just by using my February Host Code of  MW4XFBYS!  Just one more bonus for you during the month of February!!  If you are a demonstrator or you already shop with another Stampin' Up! demonstrator, you can also purchase the tutorial bundle for only $20!  Click Here to purchase your tutorial bundle today from my new online tutorial shop!

I love the soft and somewhat vintage look that you can achieve from the Stippled Roses Cling Stamp Set.  I used Basic Gray to stamp the images giving this pretty card an even more softer, vintage feel.  The rubber stamps are etched to provide such lovely details in the images.  There are 3 images and 3 sentiments in this pretty stamp set.  I'm thinking this will be a keeper for me as I fell in love with the images!  I'm thinking that I could use these to embellish some Paris scrapbook pages!

I added some small details by using the clever dies cut from Basic White paper blended with Blending Brushes and Petal Pink and Pool Party ink.  I added a piece of Adhesive Sheet cut to the size of the cardstock and placed on the back of the Pool Party blended cardstock.  This adheres to the card front very simply versus having to address each delicate part of the branch!  The Stippled Roses Dies includes delicate, lacy leaf branches and small flowers that are embossed for extra detail once cut - no embossing folder required!  The die set also includes coordinating dies to cut out each of the 3 images from the stamp set.

Reminder that you receive a 10% discount if you purchase as a bundle!  Click Here to purchase this gorgeous bundle!

The second card I made today in my Facebook Live was similar but I blended the large rose image with the ink and then die cut with the coordinating die.  I used the lovely die cut leaf branches and remaining die cut flowers to dress the card up!  Both cards are embellished with the pretty Petal Pink & Pretty Peacock Gold Foiled Gems.  Which one is your favorite?

Stop by my Facebook Live next Friday, 2/17, where I will be showcasing the Detailed Dogwood Cling Stamp Set.  This is another lovely vintage looking stamp set!  This stamp set is free with your Stampin' Up! order of $100 or more from 2024 Sale-A-Bration now while supplies last through 2/29/24!  Which I realized is only 20 days from today!  Egads!

I've decided Friday noon mt will be my new taping time!  I've going to continue Facebook Live for a few more weeks.  On Wednesday, I met with Brittany and Sean, my oldest son and his girlfriend, for coffee.  It was a nice way to start the morning before my quilting group sew.  Brittany is going to coach me on all things social media including recording and editing!  She has so many great ideas - I can't wait!  So YouTube here I come.  For now, I'm going to focus on more recording/editing than live and see how that progresses.  And I have more exciting changes coming in the future!  Stay tuned!!!

Will you be watching the Super Bowl on Sunday?  Who are cheering for the Chiefs or the 49ers?  Are you going all out with food, drinks and family & friends?  Hopefully, you will be able to find some time to craft a bit before the big game!  Have a great weekend and ...

KEEP ON CRAFTING!
